Celebration Music Teams

A vibrant and vital part of the worship experience at Destin United Methodist Church is its music. Aside from the use of traditional classics, the Ministry of Music also includes a variety of contemporary flavors as well as the favorites of yesteryear. A tiered choir program affords children, youth, and adults alike the opportunity to sing praise to the Lord in a multitude of ways. Services are greatly enhanced by the inclusion of quality special music such as: handbells, vocal and instrumental soloists, guest artists, and ensembles . We encourage anyone interested in participating in the Destin United Methodist Church's music ministry to join one of the choirs or take part in special offerings such as music retreats, tours, cantatas and children's Vacation Bible School.

Get involved in our exciting Music ministry!

UNITED IN PRAISE: Formerly known as the Praise Team, this auditioned group of some of our church’s finest singers leads Contemporary worship. Always seeking ways to improve, United in Praise is presently auditioning instrumentalists to augment the 9:30am worship experience. They rehearse each Tuesday from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Childcare is provided.

HEARTSONG: For those who feel the calling to regularly sing praise to God at 8:00am Sunday morning, this dedicated group of SAB voices is for you! HeartSong rehearses each Monday from 6:00pm until 7:00pm.

CHANCEL RINGERS: Recently having expanded from a three to a four-octave handbell choir, the Chancel Ringers is truly one of the zaniest ensembles this side of the 45th parallel. They like to have fun, and they love to make music. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings at 7:00pm.

SERAPHIM CHOIR: This energetic group of Kindergarten through 5th Graders meets weekly throughout the Fall and the Spring. The music is widely varied, fun, and exciting! Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15pm starting September 12th.

SERAPHIM HANDCHIMES: This after school opportunity is sure to become a favorite to many 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Each Monday at 3:00pm, transportation from Destin Elementary at will be followed by snack-time at the church. A handchime rehearsal will take place from 3:30pm until 4:15pm. Each child will be exposed to handchime techniques and literature, as well as music reading fundamentals.

CHERUBIM CHOIR: Children of all ages love to sing. This group of preschoolers directed by Monica Holman “rehearses” every Sunday during the 9:30am Sunday School hour, and sings on special Sundays throughout the year.

THE CHANCEL CHOIR: Understood to be the flagship ensemble of the Music Ministry, the Chancel Choir sings weekly at the 11:00am service each Sunday, plus special music throughout the year. They enjoy a wide range of choral favorites, singing selections from the gospel, spiritual, traditional, and contemporary music media. The choir meets each Wednesday from 7:00pm to 8:30 pm. Childcare is provided. All are welcome.
